Odyssey Controls, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer with the experience necessary to make an immediate impact on active projects. With extensive experience in the controls and automation industry, the Odyssey team exhibits a wide range of excellence in project management, design, specification, programming, calibration services, troubleshooting, and industrial control panel manufacturing. This allows for a diverse product and service portfolio, with an emphasis being placed on turn-key control systems.
Duties:
- Provide project support as directed by Project Manager.
- Responsible for executing tasks and producing deliverables as outlined in the Project Plan.
- Provide task and technical leadership and, at times, maintain a portion of the Project Plan.
- Determine correct product application to match customer needs; determine custom parameters and programming requirements, product pricing, product selection, order/quote processing, product development assistance and other customer requests.
- Produces technical design documentation to include single lines, motor elementary’s, loop sheets, control panel electrical diagrams and other general electrical schematics.
- Leads technical design reviews with customers throughout the project design phase.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate concept feasibility and resolve technical issues.
- Work with vendors and customers to determine proper product selection.
- Supports development of electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Responsible for final review for all electrical designs before being released for construction.
- Responsible for specification and review of instrumentation and equipment.
- Continually review designs, whether internal or external, and informs Project Manager of any potential flaws in the design.
- Responsible for generating conduit schedules and wire pulls sheet to support installation efforts, and work with contractors to understand the requirements; perform field audits to ensure quality installation.
- Performs on-site start-up activities, as directed by the Project Manager in accordance with the Project Plan.
- Performs on-site evaluations with existing and potential customers to produce scope documentation.
- Performs on-site reviews of intended installation and produces redline drawings.
- Supports sales executives by evaluating customer RFQ’s, often collaborating with other system engineers and project management to develop customized solutions for incorporating into proposals.
Qualifications:
The successful Electrical Engineer candidate will possess the following:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experienceworking directly with facility and process automation control systems at a level of responsibility equal to the duties specified above.
- Knowledge of multiple control system platforms.
- Understanding and ability to work with and from PFD, P&ID's.
- Experience in programming various makes of PLC hardware.
- Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical is highly desirable.
- Knowledgeable in UL508
- The successful candidate will be working as an integral part of a team consisting of both colleagues and customer professionals, so strong communication skills are essential, including excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Projects can be dynamic and the successful candidate must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.
- Position will require travel to customer project sites, including immediate on-site project assignments in the Eastern U.S.
